Re: DRAWING-a-YEAR
The I Ching marking recent images. Archetypes of change. Images not so much as objects as of states of change. That every event in the visible world is the effect of an image that is of an idea in the unseen world. Images trigger the Receptive and the Creative according to the Tao. A process technology: The I Ching facilitates daily images to become a transformative process therefore unpredictable. The one constant is the format-size of the image. * I Ching * Receptive * Change * Process * Time *Transformative * Hexagram

QUICKSILVER symbol Hg - also the smallest planet in the Solar system. Dear Genie Oh, so good, so fresh, so inspiring! Fantastic Genie, I don't know what to say, these works are like collected flowers on a walk somewhere and then coming home, one looks at the flowers and puts the flowers in water or between the leaves of a book. Somehow it relates to the walk or some how the walk relates to other things and the flowers are incidental but nevertheless images of what transpired. To condense all the sensations of a spring walk after winter that's a real breath of fresh air, is it not? Much love, hope to speak tomorrow. Thank you. G Hello Dear Genie I love your drawings/images, very reminiscent of William Blake and also reflected in your comments. Essentially what you are engaged upon is poetry, visual poetry of course, and of course one thinks of Jay Ramsey. What a strange set of connections we have! This new work of yours is totally inspired and inspiring as a result? Refreshing and exciting, like a child listening to a story and almost, 'desperately' wanting to know what happens in 'Chapter Four. I can see you are enjoying this very much for the images speak for themselves. I will send you a link on Blake, all of which you know, but just as a reminder, because what you are doing and saying is exactly how he responded to the circumstances in his time. I have always held a great respect for Blake, his ideas work commitment and courage. Absolute terrific and encouraging work, good medicine for me also! Thank you! Hello dear Anna
Making images daily is still entering the unknown? It has been just over two month since this weird project started. The experience differs and feels like a choreography of endless impulses dropped on a piece of paper. There has been an attempt at following a call –that of the 22 Hebrew letters of fire. Their energy proved comforting guidance. Now this is almost over and a follow up yet invisible. Like a bee, pollination is available, though the transformation is not obvious? Trust might be the wax needed to create a hive. No queen in sight; is she hidden behind Perseverance? Requesting an image is participating in ‘un-doing’ - sharing a journey towards weightlessness, an exchange a partnership. xxGxx Dear Anna
Sorry it's so late in the day. Today's drawing was hard work, and not completley satisfactory. My health is not good, the heat is a lot to bear. There is a lesson here... I have yet to understand it. Speak tomorrow xxgxx Hello dear Anna,
How are you feeling? 'Words', a new series of images, an attempted quest at sharing and gifting a synthesis between various intentions when they appear. It follows the previous drawings- 'Letters', as a natural process. xxgxx Dear Anna
I've come to the end of the Hebrew alphabet, all 22 letters. It has felt as if each drawing is a prayer, an incantation; an alchemical mix of sounds, collage and drawing. Each message takes 4-5 hours to complete, there are times while I make that I have to pause to take a breath, for as the impulse moves through me I feel the history of each letter vibrate. I don't know what is next. Have a lovely evening, Genie xox "NUN, The fish, one of the 12 simple letters."
Drawing here is a discipline that requires effort. I am being pushed to work without expectations, making without a plan. The constant use of the same format, the same shape, is both familiar and yet challenging. There is an order to it, a ritual. What will happen once I've used up all the Hebrew letters of the alphabet. Where will I travel next? These are alcehmical drawings, leading me on, taking me somewhere. Dear Anna
Reaching image 9, journeying towards 10 or rather 1 “yod” new departure! Questioning what is nourishing, acquisition or transmission? Always a gift … Xgx PS: Please edit if needed Afternoon dear Anna,
666 apocalyptic view at the disappearance of bees.Their terrestrial pollination gives life to human environment. We need waw, the hook to bring them back. Have a good evening. xxgxx |
